The creative genius John Maltby died in August 2020.
This retrospective exhibition features work from all stages of his career, from early work in the 1960s through to a wall plaque made a few days before
his death and subsequently fired by Tamsin Trevorrow. As well as completed works, the exhibition includes a large number of fragments found in John's workshop, examples of his sketchbooks
and a new edition of the book John Maltby - A Life in Creativity.
Although I am not a Maltby collector, this excellent exhibition enabled me see how his work developed over the years and I enjoyed discussing the works with other visitors at the very well attended private view.
My thanks go to the team at the Yew Tree Gallery for putting on a truly memorable show.
